The Mad River Chorale in Concert During the first weekend of June, the Mad River Chorale will be presenting a concert series featuring classical music. The program features the Liebeslieder Waltzes by Brahms, and other Brahms-inspired pieces, including the Spanisches Liederspiel by Paul Zoll, and 4 Slowak Volkslieder by Bela Bartok. Both the Brahms and the Zoll will be sung in their original German while the rest of the program is in English. Tim Guiles, accompanist for the Chorale, will be joined at the piano by Mary Jane Austin-Reynolds.
"We've been working on this material since February," says conductor, Piero Bonamico, "And it is all quite difficult. But the singers have put in a lot of hard work over many long hours and we're delighted to be sharing this music with you."
These concerts are dedicated to the memory of Frank Rodgers.
