The Mad River Chorale

Christmas Spectacular 2011

Celebrate the season with the Mad River Chorale on the night before, the night before Christmas!

The Mad River Chorale, a community-based choir from the Mad River Valley, presents their "Holiday Spectacular Concert" this month. This annual event will take place at Harwood Union High School in Duxbury on Friday, December 23rd at 7:30pm. There will also be an additional concert on Thursday, December 22 at South Burlington HS featuring the same program.

This year's program will be the biggest ever, as the Chorale joins forces with The South Burlington Community Chorus, The Young Singers Chorus of Vermont and the Triton Brass, resulting in a combined performing force of over 100 singers and instrumentalists. “Each ensemble will perform solo repertoire and join in various combinations throughout the evening,” said artistic director Piero Bonamico.

The concert will feature a blend of traditional holiday favorites like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and songs from "The Grinch," alongside some major works. In addition, renowned composer/arranger Robert DeCormier has arranged the song "Baloo Lammy" specifically for the Young Singers Chorus of VT to perform at this concert.
There is certainly no doubt that with the combination of a massive choir and outstanding instrumentalists, the holiday concerts by these combined forces will be something to remember.
