Benefit for Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS
This summer, Cafe Noir Productions is presenting "RENT: school edition" as a part of our educational theatre programming. One of the events included in the program is a benefit concert for Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS, taking place on Sunday, July 10 at Sugarbush Resort's Gatehouse Lodge. This event features the cast of "RENT" which includes nineteen high school students from across central Vermont. Also featured, is the directing staff of the program, Scott Weigand (director) and Stefanie Weigand (music director). "This cabaret is a great way for us to give back to the community in the best way we know how... by singing," says director Scott Weigand. "Broadway Cares is an amazing organization who's work has a direct impact on the well-being of many people living here in Vermont and we look forward to what we know will be a very supportive and enthusiastic audience."
The evening will include popular music and pieces from the musical theatre genre. All proceeds will go to Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS, one of the nation's leading non-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. Every year BC/EFA awards grants to more than 400 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide including local organizations like Vermont CARES, Imani Health Institute and AIDS Project of Southern Vermont.
Tickets are $10 at the door.
